Abbas Case Update

Dear Friends of Cincinnati Right to Life:

We must confront another tragedy created by Big Abortion— mail‑order abortions. These abortion drugs are creating crime scenes around the state.

I’m speaking about the recent case of the Toledo‑area suspended doctor, Hassan Abbas, who maliciously forced abortion drugs on his girlfriend, Jona Affholder, intending to kill their unborn child. Prosecutors say he physically restrained her and forced the drugs into her mouth against her will. She fought him, tried to call 911, escaped, sought help at a hospital — but her baby tragically died.

Last week, Abbas pleaded no contest to 4 felonies and received a sentence of six months in jail and two years of probation.

Six months.

Six months for assaulting a woman and forcing her to ingest abortion drugs that killed her child.

It is outrageous conduct and an outrageously light sentence.

This case is about more than one man’s bad actions. It is about the policy environment that allows this to happen. It is a sobering reminder that perpetrators can use mail‑order abortion drugs as weapons against women. Women and their unborn babies deserve protection.

This happened in Ohio.

And Ohio must respond to this threat.

This is a moment for action.

Take a few minutes to send a polite, firm message. Tell lawmakers that mail-order abortion must end.

Laws matter. Policy matters. Elections have consequences. Vote pro-life. And pray during these 40 Days for Life that God ends the epidemic of mail-order abortions creating crime scenes around Ohio.
