The medical treatment that  reverses the effects  of the chemical abortion pill has reached another milestone in the number of  lives it has saved . Heartbeat International  announced  Tuesday that its statistics show more than 8,000 lives have been saved through the Abortion Pill Rescue® Network ( APRN ).

The latest statistical landmark in efforts to provide immediate medical care to women who regret beginning a chemical abortion comes as  more women  inquire about  Abortion Pill Reversal  (APR) and abortion-supportive elected officials continue their legal assault on the protocol.

The APRN, managed by Heartbeat International, includes nearly 1,500 healthcare professionals, pregnancy centers, and hospitals worldwide that administer the APR protocol, often around the clock. Heartbeat is the largest network of pregnancy help organizations in the U.S. and globally.

“Our APRN team is heads down, every day, working with women who have only hours for that last chance to choose life,” said Jor-El Godsey, president of Heartbeat International.

“To then look up and see the life-saved counter pass 8,000 is no small thing,” he said. “One life at a time suddenly begins to look like a town-size population.”

“This is even more remarkable with the headwinds of opposition arising from both Big Abortion and Big Tech,” Godsey said. “With this milestone we celebrate the amazing dedication of our APRNetwork to answer the call around the clock for every day on the calendar.”

The majority of all U.S. abortions are chemical abortions, and chemical abortion continues to rise as it remains largely unregulated and abortion pill vendors skirt existing laws to sell the drugs.

There are two drugs in a chemical abortion, the first, mifepristone, blocks progesterone in the pregnant woman’s system, starving her child of nutrients. The second drug, misoprostol, taken a day or so later, causes the mother to go into labor and deliver her deceased child.

APR is an  updated application   of a treatment used for decades to prevent miscarriage. It entails prescribing bioidentical progesterone to counter the effects of mifepristone.

If a woman has taken mifepristone and acts quickly enough, it may be possible to save her child with APR. Results are best within 24 hours, but reversals have successfully occurred as long as 72 hours after mifepristone was ingested.

A 2018   peer-reviewed study  reported reversal rates between 64% and 68%, with no increase in birth defects and a lower preterm delivery rate than the general population.

The APRN connects with thousands of women each year, roughly 200 per month who qualify for reversal, and around six women start APR each day. The Network has assisted women in 98 other countries and all 50 states in U.S. and seen a 30% increase in reversal starts in the latest fiscal year.

Christa Brown, senior director of Medical Impact for Heartbeat International and executive director of the APRN, remarked that the success in  connecting women for reversal treatment  through the APRN “speaks to the dedication of the nurses and APR Network who served the women well.”

“Most who speak with a nurse (90%+) start reversal,” Brown told  Pregnancy Help News. “And most (80%+) are connected to help in under and hour no matter where they reside in the world.”

Still,  APR   has been   the target of suppression   by  tech   companies elected officials abortion proponents and   abortion  states, and   Heartbeat   faces  lawsuits  from two state attorneys general over  sharing information   about APR .

California  Attorney General Rob Bonta filed a lawsuit against Heartbeat International and a group of affiliated pregnancy medical clinics in the state  to block  “advertising Abortion Pill Reversal as safe and effective.”

Nonetheless , Brown said the APRN remains   available to serve  and assist women who regret starting their chemical abortion and wish to pursue reversal.

“While abortion proponents openly admit their opposition to APR is rooted in abortion politics, rather than in medicine, APR remains safe for moms and safe for babies,” she said. “It is simple and effective. And while chemical abortion continues to expand worldwide, the APR hotline and network stand ready to assist anyone having regret, no matter where she resides in the world.”

Heartbeat International’s general counsel spoke about the human impact of the latest lives saved statistic for APR.

“Today we stand on a powerful, soul‑stirring milestone,” Danielle White said. “This number shows exactly why it is so important to continue to fight against the silencing of our life-saving message.”

“Today, mothers will hug children the abortion industry attempted to erase,” White said. “These mothers and families deserve to hear our message of hope, and as we celebrate this beautiful milestone in our ministry, we remain resolved to continue to walk beside women in their most vulnerable moments, offering compassion and support, even in the face of efforts to silence us.”

Brown noted how the thousands of children saved through APR walk among us alive, a joy to their families, regardless of what the protocol’s detractor’s claim.

“If you saw any one of these children in the grocery store, playing basketball, dancing in a recital, or graduating high school, you would never know they were once counted as an abortion statistic,” she said. “Their brave mothers chose life for them despite challenging circumstances and influencers telling them that finishing the abortion is the only way.”

“Although many would want to silence our message and hinder our work, these women and families express tremendous joy as they hold their children in their arms,” Brown said. “It is humbling and a great joy to see these miracles happen every single day.”
