Planned Parenthood of SW Ohio disregarding women's health in pursuit of expanding abortion

As usual, Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio is disregarding the health and safety of women in its pursuit of expanding abortion. Rather than following the same licensing process required of every other medical facility in Ohio, the organization is seeking special treatment by attempting to rush its application through the Ohio Department of Health.

Former Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, now leading Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio, has filed a lawsuit in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court before Judge Alison Hathaway seeking to compel the Ohio Department of Health to approve the licensing application for the Kettering abortion facility that Planned Parenthood purchased from abortionist Martin Haskell last year. Planned Parenthood claims it is being unfairly targeted by the state. Judge Hathaway has proven herself to be a sympathetic ear to the whining of Planned Parenthood.

The reality is that Ohio's licensing process exists to protect patients by ensuring that all healthcare facilities meet established health and safety standards. Planned Parenthood should not be exempt from those requirements simply because it is the nation's largest abortion provider. Instead of allowing the process to run its course, Whaley is demanding expedited treatment so the facility can begin performing abortions and generating revenue as quickly as possible.

Ohio's health and safety regulations should apply equally to every medical facility. Women deserve the same protections regardless of where they receive care, and no abortion provider should receive preferential treatment at the expense of patient safety.
